I have been in Kentucky the past few day’s putting out some trail cameras and using this time to glass some summer bucks. It has rained so much and the ground is saturated. I told my son “if it didn’t stop we would have to hunt “rain” deer this fall”. This is the time of year to work hard. Specifically in your food plots, trail cameras and using your spotting scope. It is also a great time to get the whole family involved. If you have little ones like my wife and I, it’s great to get them outdoors and become a part of putting food on the table in the fall. It’s also a great time to simply spend some one on one time with them. I would also encourage you to make it fun. For example, my family and I make it a game who can spot deer the fastest and the most. The winner gets to choose what’s for desert. There is nothing that says more about our passion for hunting than a chocolate sundae. So, gear up by getting your family involved with putting bone on the ground this fall.
